CATL Ramp up Investment in Yibin Production Base
Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL) and Yibin Sanjiang New District Management Committee recently signed an investment agreement for the seventh to tenth phases of Sichuan Contemporary Amperex Technology Ltd. (CATL-SC) Traction Battery Project in Chengdu, southwestern China's Sichuan province.
According to the agreement, CATL will increase its production capacity on the basis of the existing six phases of project. Through its subsidiary CATL-SC, CATL will invest up to 24 billion yuan (around 3.78 billion USD) in the construction of the seventh to tenth phases of the traction battery Yibin production base in the Sanjiang New District of Yibin.
